Video: A New Year Focus on Your Finances

Updated: Aug 24, 2023

This is the transcript of the above video.

Hi everyone, this is your friendly neighborhood wealth management advisor, aka a financial advisor: Leyder Murillo, but you can call me Aiden from Wolfpack Wealth Management.

Welcome to my video on starting the new year with a focus on your finances. I know it is mid-way through January, but it is still considered the new year.

As we all know, the new year is a time for new beginnings and making resolutions. But have you ever thought about making a financial resolution for the new year?

Maybe you've always struggled with money management, or you've never really given much thought to your finances. Either way, now is the perfect time to start thinking about your money and how you can take control of your financial future.

One of the biggest mistakes people make is not sitting down and thinking about their financial goals. They might make a vague resolution to save more money, but without a clear plan, it's easy to get sidetracked or lose motivation.

I encourage you to start the new year by considering what you want to achieve financially. For example, do you wish to pay off debt? Save for a down payment on a house? Build up your retirement savings? Whatever your goals, it's essential to be specific and have the plan to achieve them.

Another crucial step in taking control of your finances is setting a budget. Setting a budget might seem daunting initially, but it's a simple process that can help you make the most of your money. By selecting a budget, you'll be able to see exactly where your money is going and make any necessary adjustments to reach your financial goals.

Finally, feel free to seek help if you need it, whether talking to a registered financial advisor or finding credible resources online. Speaking of credible resources, please read our post on how videos & social media are not financial advice. But, look, there are plenty of ways to get the support you need to manage your finances.

So, if you're looking to make a positive change in your financial life, I encourage you to start the new year off with a focus on your finances. Take the time to think about your goals, create a budget, and stick to it. Then, with dedication and hard work, you can take control of your financial future and set yourself up for success.

Thank you for watching. I hope you found this helpful and will consider making a financial resolution for this new year. I wish you all the best in this new year!
